Speech Language Pathologist

Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Autonomously planning and implementing child-centered individual and/or group interventions that aim at improving functional abilities, access to the curriculum, and participation in learning activities.

  • Selecting appropriate standardized and non-standardized assessment measures to analyze, interpret and report results.

  • Providing interventions for BCCL students and children in the wider community with various diagnoses, focusing on social-language pragmatics.

  • Designing and leading students in sessions that are engaging, interactive and follow best practices in a progressive, flexible and personalized approach.

  • Fostering positive relationships with students to support their social and emotional learning.

  • Collaborating effectively within a team-centered environment.

  • Attending school events, staff meetings and professional development sessions outside ofschool hours.

  • Developing community-based outreach programs, workshops, and professional development sessions.

  • Operating on a modified school-year calendar.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Certification to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) through ASHA, SAC,

  • HCPC, RCSLT, or equivalent national governing body as per the mutual recognition agreement (MRA) and be licensed/registered to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in their home jurisdiction (e.g., state or province).

  • Minimum of three years of experience providing speech-language intervention in a school- based position.

  • Licensure with the Bermuda Health Council or eligibility to obtain a license.

  • SCARS and CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to attend training.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.

  • A high degree of professionalism with excellent analytical, interpersonal, written and verbalcommunication skills.

  • Ability to exercise discretion and respect for confidentiality in all matters.

  • Ability to handle and balance multiple priorities with excellent time management skills.

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Enjoy working with children in a busy educational setting.

  • Candidate must have a vehicle and a valid driver's license.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, andcommunity members.

  • Dedication to providing high-quality services and advocating for the needs of students and their families.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support student success.
